I've searched the Web to no avail...

Does anyone know of any Pinballs that come in colors other then Silver,
Gold, and the Ceramic TZ White? I'm specificially looking for a Metalic
Black, but it would also be interesting to see other colors that may go
well with specific Pinball Themes. Does such a thing exist?

Thanks!

I agree, Silver looks sharp in anything, however a Friend of mine has a
Star Wars Pin and thought it would be cool to have a metalic black
ball, namely the "Darth Ball" to go with the theme. I thought it was a
cool and unique idea but don't know if such a Ball exists. Thought
there may be custom Balls out there, such as an 8 Ball for a Pool
Themed Pin, a Fireball for a Fire Themed pin, maybe an Eyeball for an
Elvira or Horror Themed Pin, etc.

How cool would that be? 😀

A slow playing single ball game could have a powder coated or painted
ball...for awhile, but any game where there is metal to metal contact
of the balls is going to chip off whatever coating big time.

Bad idea all around.

I bet you could get a local shop to anodize your -ahem- balls any color
you want. I think that would probably hold up well.

The anodize, no matter how hard it is, will chip off. trust me..

black rose was planned to have black balls....but that was scrapped
when it went to production.

I think it would be very hard to see in the game. I played a FH
recently where the ball was so worn it looked grey and even that was
hard to see.

Certainly don't want anything that would chip off... I have some Gold
Balls that I haven't installed and will now think twice before doing so
if the gold actually flakes off over time... ;(

I thought anodize was only for aluminum, no?

Viper Night Driv'n had lime green plastic
coated ones.

There exists a blue ceramic ball, for TZ protos.

And of course theres always plenty of "rust brown"
ones to be had.... 😉

Damn, I wouldn't mind some of those!

Ah, you are correct, true anodizing is for aluminum. There are many
other coating processes that are often mis-nomered as anodizing, apply
to steel and other metals, and are extremely durable. We sent steel
parts out for coating, parts that take much more abuse than a pinball
EVER will.... and we can get colors.

I thought I saw somewhere that Bally's Gold Ball machine had a gold
colored ball in it?? I guess it was just plated since it wasn't used
100% during the game?

The gold (brass plated) balls only last for a few dozen games before it
loses it's luster then after a few dozen more games starts to come off. The
white TZ powerball is a ceramic ball that is molded in that color. I
believe they had a blue one during testing but was hard to see on the
playfield.

Having a pinball plated with a color IMHO is asking for trouble as that
coating starts to come off and get all over the playfield. Beside that, a
dark color would be hard to see when playing.

What game does the silver pinball NOT go with???
