Ping and VSync

I was thinking,my ping is always ~100ms in online games ,so obviously I'm adapted to 100ms input delay (that's how it works right?),so if I turn on vsync, will the input delay increase further or will it not matter anymore and just benefit from the smoothness?

network ping is only measured to your nic. display latency is in addition to network latency.
