I've just replaced a Dimension 4400 desktop board with another used board
which has it's own (incorrect) tag number.

Do you have a link or instructions that will clear the old tag?

(Yes, I already have asset.com and svctag.exe, but neither are
appropriate.....)

Asset.com will work if you do it properly, boot from a floppy or cd with
asset.com on it and run the prog at the prompt type including spacesn but
not the brackets asset /s (insert tag number here) and then hit enter
