Ping randomly has increased by 40 ms in discord and in games and is extremely consistent at this new tps as of 2 days ago.

Over the last couple of days out of nowhere I have seen a jump from 60 ping in discord servers and games to almost exactly a hundred. I am the only thing on my network with my router having WiFi turned off when testing this and I am checking task manager and noticing NOTHING using any internet more than normal to affect this. When I got to speedtest.net I still get the normal 40 to my local servers. So no change there. My download speed is the same as before at 2 Mb and upload at 0.7 Mb. I have tried switching DNS, Ethernet ports on router, all of the above. All help would be appreciated! (yes I know I have Dial Up speed internet, only plan available).

Run a tracert to the server or to 8.8.8.8.

What you are looking for is what node in the path you get most the increase. If it is not in the first one it is not inside your house. Hop2 represent the delay between your house and the ISP and farther hops are other routers in the ISP network and other ISP networks.

It would have been nice to have a trace when it was lower so you could compare.

If it is not in the first 2 hops it will be hard to get fixed. I could be something like your ISP or another ISP had a failure and moved to a backup connection that connects in a different city so the data must go a longer path.

So I did a tracert and I got this as a result I was the only one on my network at the time of doing the test and I was going through a modem and an access point wired. I am not really sure on this kind of networking stuff but if you could give me the rundown that would be amazing!

The last couple show nothing but the first one shows there is some problem with the connection between your house and the ISP.

If this problem is intermittent like this it is going to be hard to find.

Be very careful that the problem is not occurring because you are over using the connection. If there is some large download occurring you will see large increases in the latency because the ISP is buffering data.

If you are not downloading some and are sure no other heavy traffic is causing this then call the ISP and show them the high latency starting in hop 2. This indicates a problem with the connection.
