Ping spikes every ten minutes

About 3 months ago I would start getting ping spikes every ten seconds that would last anywhere between 5-10 seconds and my ping could skyrocket up to 1000. My pc is plugged in directly to the extender in my house so I don’t understand what could be causing the problem.

I’ve tried researching this before and solving with other solutions like:
-I’ve called my service provider to see if they do something but they couldn’t
-I’ve tried changing my router’s channel and lowering the mbps
-I’ve run ping plotter on all my devices and it seems to affect all of them not just my pc
-I’ve replaced cords trying to see if that would do anything but it didn’t

I’m just looking for any type of solution at this point

Are you able to update your post to include more information?

E.g., ISP, cable modem (make and model), router (make and model), extender (make and model)?

How are they all connected (wired, wireless)?

From your pc are you able to run "ipconfig /all" via the command prompt and post the results?

More details will be helpful.

The following connectivity:

ISP (Charter) --Ethernet --> Arris SB6183 modem --Ethernet --> Netgear R7800 router ~~ Wireless ~~> Nighthawk AC1900 --Ethernet-->PC

Correct?

Not noting anything astray in ipconfig...

Suggestions:

Did you reserve a static IP address on the Extender? The extender should have a fixed IP address outside of the router's allowed DHCP IP address range. Plus the assigned static IP address should be reserved on the router for the extender via the extender's MAC.

If Charter does not provide IPv6 in your area try disabling IPv6 on your devices.

Next step is to turn off devices except for your PC. If the problem disappears then turn on each device one by one. Wait/work as usual until you are certain that there are not disruptions. Then do the same process with the next device. Be methodical and you may need to try starting devices in different orders.

Ipv6 is already disabled and isnt even offered to me by charter can you give me a guide on how to reserve a static ip address for my extender cause i dont believe ive ever done anything like that before.

Actually, I may have been heading off track with respect to the static IP...

Please post the model numbers for the router and the extender. If I looked at the correct manual the extender is preset for DHCP.

So there may be nothing to be gained via a static IP. If the network is indeed working other than the spikes best to leave all as is.

More likely the spikes are interference from some source. Does your house have Ethernet wall jacks?
