Two days ago I went to plug in my headset to a kinda loose usb port as I always do when I plan to play an online game, right when I plugged it in, my computer shut down completely and then started up again. Ever since that happened my ping spikes to 3600 every few seconds making any online game unplayable. I use a wireless connection but I have tried different wireless connections and every other computer in the house does not have this problem. I did a system restore, disk defrag, and just opened the computer up and blew out all the dust. Still having the same ping spike problem. I am on windows 7 professional.

Try a wired connection. Where was the USB port? Back or front IO? If you have a wireless card you might need to update to the latest firmware. Also check the mobo or card for burnt marks because it coupe caused a short circuit
