Ok; i am "renting" the internet from the person next door (he knows, 10 a month) (im in an apartment building so the router is only maybe 10-15 feet away but through walls) so getting a ethernet connection is basically impossible without a cord going out the window type deal. ive tested the internet speed and its fine (2mb+) and whenever im playing games at any point during the day or night i'll start spiking getting massive ping like something is downloading.

BUT none of them know anything about torrents or uploading or that type of thing so clogging the internet for 5~ minutes is basically impossible for them, it almost feels like that the internet is not giving priority to the ping intensive program and its causing me to get ping spikes, ive run multiple ping tests to servers all over the world and havnt gotten any packetloss, ive done speedtests pingtest and that came back with zero packet loss.

What ive tried:

Changing the WiFi channel (was on like 3, changed it to 1), ran inSSIDer and it told me 1 is the best channel to put the wifi on (58 score)

a whole bunch of registry edits that i cant remember exactly, i believe one of them was turning off the "computer scans for new wifi sources every so often" option.

flipped through all teh wifi options on the router (very limited options) and enabled the items that "Boost" the signal

http://imgur.com/FU9hGsn theres the options

i dont really know what to do to attempt to rectify the problem. any suggestions?
