Ping Spikes Since I Reinstalled WIndows 10.

Hello all, so i completely wiped my Windows 10 PC the other day for reasons unrelated, i reinstalled a fresh Windows 10, reinstalled my games, etc, all went smoothly.

Now when i play all games i get a internet lag spike every 20-40 seconds which last approximately 3 seconds. I had no problems prior to reinstalling Windows 10.

I'm completely out of ideas and Google/Youtube doesn't seem to be helping very much, i really hope anyone could help me out here, thanks all.

Internet specs: 220Mbps Download - 12Mbps Upload - Ethernet Cable.

I've tried:

-Installing the newest LAN drivers; the older LAN drivers my mobo tells me to install; and no LAN drivers.
-Restarting my Router.

I'm using MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Mobo, and i'm using the Ethernet port in the motherboard, not a NIC.

No one else in my house are having problems like myself, this started happening the first time i played a game on my fresh windows.

Is there any program i can run in the background, play the game, then it gives me some information with whats happening, then i can maybe diagnose the problem or give you guys the information to diagnose it yourself?

Thanks all.

MSI is known for using the Killer Network which kinda sucks for their NICs.

I have a z370 MSI gaming 7 board with a Killer NIC and had random ping latency issues also. I purchased a 1GB 3rd party Intel NIC and installed that. Havnt had problems since. (which sucks because everything else about MSI is awesome, I use a full MSI system).

Try going to MSI's website and downloading the newest drivers but not the Killer Network software. Drivers only.

If you already have the Killer Network software installed. Remove it.

If that doesn't work, try running this tool. https://sdi-tool.org/ it will search for drivers for your system but the cool thing about this software is it will also recommend the more optimal driver versions, which isn't always the most up-to-date onces. Try using an optimal one from the software.

P.S.
And yes, you can use something like HWMonitor to monitor your usage and system temps.

So basically, my motherboard doesn't have any compatibility with the Killer Network or anything to do with that, i have also tried the SDI Tool, installed the things it recommended, restarted the PC, and still nothing.

When i said is there a program so i can try diagnose the problem i was talking about some sort of network monitor tool, so when the ping spikes happen maybe it'll show in the program or something? Let me know if that doesn't make sense hahaha. Thanks for helping.

Ah gotcha.

Well what I did was just opened CMD and ran a continuous ping check while I was gaming. If I noticed lag in game I'd look at my CMD results and see if the ping spiked or not.

Open CMD and type something like ping google.com -t

The -t command will make it a continuous ping so you can monitor it while doing other things.

This is how I found my Killer NIC to be the issue and ended up getting a 3rd party Intel NIC that resolved my issue.
