Hello guys ,

Please note: when i use lan connection none of the below occurs.

I have a netfaster iad 2 wireless router. I connect to it using a TP link wireless adapter and i get 4 bars of signal (some times 3 or 5) but most of the times it is 4. When i play counter strike global offensive i usually have a ping around 80. When somebody come home and take a walk from living room to bathroom for example the ping rises from 80 to up to 900. So there i a huge lag in the game. I use channel 6 ,802.11g+802.11b (mixed).

My (related) computer specs:
Ram 4GB
Graphics card nVidia gt650
CPU i7 920

There is plenty of free ram during the game is running

Please help

thanks in advance

thats not a common issue.... someone walking in the house does not cause ping spikes commonly man..... but i agree on the part that its about time he upgraded his router, dont think though because one ac router is say 1300Mb/s that its better than one thats 900Mb/s because thats really not the case and i can prove it. whats your internet speed?.

my dads router is g rated and he never ever has that problem , nobody i know on adsl2 either with an old router has that problem, there must be something deeper causing it, he may think its just when they walk in that certain place but he might not be monitoring the times, im on fttc (fibre to the cabinet) and i have a ac router and i get ping spikes at odd times, it can just happen, its usually down to bad routing etc.

buy a new router and if the problem persists then you know its not the router, its all down to trial and error but i cant see that being the issue, best way to try is have some walk back and forth past the router and see what happens.
