Pioneer Bdr-209dbk can't find driver download, help!

Hello,

I recently built a new pc running windows 7 64 bit, with the above bluray drive.

The drive is running very slowly, emits a lot of clicking noises and fails to load some dvds, which run fine on two separate other (and much older) dvd drives.

I would like to update the drivers before deciding that the drive is faulty and returning it. I am, however struggling to find a driver to download.

Does anyone know where I can find up to date drivers for this thing? The pioneer website doesn't seem to have them.

You don't install "drivers" for CD/DVD/BD drives - they all come standard with your OS isntallation.

What you probably have to look after is updated firmware for your drive.

Sadly I can't find any firmware updates either.

Turns out bitdefender was to blame. Was trying to scan the dvd before letting me access it, hence why it was glacially slow.
