Hi guys I've been lurking for a while, looking for an answer to my problem but I only got it part solved. Here comes the story:
I have an XFX DD 7950 and a LG M2380A HDTV. The GPU is plugged by HDMI to the display and I cannot have it any other way because I need it to carry audio as well.
When I first plugged the display I had the underscaling problem plus an awful pixelated view. I played with the underscaling settings but that would only get rid of the black borders and leave me with a blurry pixelated screen.
After a while I figured I had to change the pixel format from YCbCr 4:4:4 to RGB 4:4:4 (Full RGB), which would take care of both my problems.
When I started gaming I noticed that the black borders appeared again, not for every game but for some games like AC3, FC3, Hitman Absolution and HL2.
At first I thought it was an underscaling problem and I solved it by doing the registry hack to force the 0% underscaling because the games would override it with any other fix I would try. This would solve the black borders again but would leave me with the blurry pixelated picture again. This is why I believe that the game, when changing resolutions, is making CCC to reset the pixel format to YCbCr 4:4:4. Does anyone here know how to prevent this? I would be golden if someone told me which registry to create inside regedit as to change the default pixel format to RGB 4:4:4 Full.
Thanks guys. If I missed any details, please let me know.
