could someone please help me? on my ASRock - AB350 Pro4 ATX AM4 Motherboard it says that it has pixel shader 5.0.
what does that mean?
do i want pixel shader 6.0? (if that exists) or even 7.0 (if that exists)?
will it improve the graphics?
will it help my computer run?
if it helps it also says it is directX12 which i sorta know what it means
i am planning on running games like overwatch, skyrim etc.
i also have a 144hz monitor. does that help?
thanks in advance.

my gpu is a 1050ti by EVGA with 4gb, thanks for asking

Solution
That CPU is not an APU so it has no igpu so the graphic specs on the motherboard page do not apply.

The the 1050Ti is a good entry level gaming option but if you want to increase gaming performance you need a faster gpu.
You should not be concerned with that. While I was still building my old PC, I used this old rig that had an Intel Chipset in it, and that thing had Pixel Shaders 1.0. If you have atleast 3.0 you'll be fine. Just don't worry about it

Actually the motherboard itself has no gpu so it has no pixel shader. The pixel shader 5.0 support is only if you use an APU. If you are wanting to game an apu is a poor choice.

What cpu/apu are you using? Posting the full system specs would helpful.

im using a 1050ti 4gb

i've got a ryzen 5 1400 with a be quiet! - Pure Rock Slim 35.1 CFM CPU Cooler

this is copy pasted off of my pcpartpicker

sorry i forgot to tell you that i am ordering from Canada, and so, a 1060 6gb would be well over 400$ with the cheapest 3gb being 313$

sorry
