Hi,

I have a mid tower matx case which has broken side glass panel and it's gathering dust quickly. I also want to place it on a rack under my tv as HTPC, but the rack doesn't tall enough for the case. So to reduce dust and place it on the rack, I have an idea to lay the case horizontally, which will make the missing panel side be the bottom now.

Considering all components are screwed tightly, is it still safe to do that? My only concern is that the mainboard and all components attached to it (including gpu) will be in "hanging" position. Should I be worry about the PSU & all the drives (3 HDDs & 1 SSD) too?

The original plan is to make a cheap upgrade for it (core i3 + h510m + 2 ram sticks). Maybe I can save money from buying a new case.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
I think you should be fine.
I've run all sorts of different orientations.
....as long as you use common sense.....like don't block the cooling etc.
