Hey guys,
Well I've just set myself up a new system with about half new parts half old. I installed win2k on it and I'm having a terrible time getting things to work correctly. My biggest problem is that I can't get any games to work at this point. The ones I've tried are, America's Army, Max Payne, Enter The Matrix Ut2003. The either do nothing or say this exe has generated errors and will need to restart. I've installed about 3 different versions of graphics drivers, two different versions of directx, I've tried it with win2k sp1 3 and 4. Same exact thing with all. Also I installed creative mediasource that came with my sound blaster audigy and it reboots the computer when I try and launch it... I'm kinda stumped, any help would be great. My specs are as follows.

p4p800 deluxe 2.8ghz
512 XMS DDR400
SB Audigy 2 platinum
Pioneer DVD-ROM
Plextor CD-RW 48x12
350Watt PSU
win2k sp4
Directx 9a

Thanks

These are all games which at one time worked on my computer with win2k. And the drives, I think I have used befor. I tried all the newest versions and then rolled back a few which I thought could habe been a problem. I'm really stumped. I done two clean installs and slowly put the drivers back on. I thought maybe the problem could have been with the Audigy software, but I'm not sure... I used it all before and had it work ok.

It's a brand new enermax or whatever. originaly i had a ton of problems with a bad powerstrip which I replaced. Could bad a bad outlet cause these kinds of poblems? the comp seems fine except games don't run or they only run once and then start to fail. Games like max payne and enter the matrix both worked once everytime I installed them and then after that one time failed every other time... Seems odd.

Is it a illegal one? If so, try to get another copy.
I think you can try sp2 instead of 3 and 4. Besides, install divx 8 and other drivers. Moreover you can try winxp to check that if your hardwares have probleam or not.

the version of win2k is one I've used for over 2 years with no problem. For a video card I've got a GeForce3 Ti-200 which I have had with no problems for a year or so. I will try some of those suggestions and get back to ya, thanks guys.
