I live in a suburb of Phoenix, AZ. The interstate highways are very busy
here. It seems as though one of our friends (Pilots IRL), could not
maintain and crashed his C 210 in the median on I-17 at the Deer Valley Rd.
exit.

The skies are very busy here as well, but he seemed to have the presence of
mind to put it down on pavement instead of crashing into a mall or
something.

I for one wish him well and a speedy recovery.

We all know the risks of flying, be it in a small plane or a giant
airliner. We wish there were none, but realize the moment we leave our beds
in the morning, our lives are at some degree of risk. One of the reasons I
enjoy flying is the respect I have for all those who do so be it civilian or
military, pilot or passenger. Good luck to your friend and may he enjoy
many more hours in the air.
