Plane of Hate

I have been spending a lot of time in the Plane of Hate, trying to get the
Shattered Gem of Corruption for a Ranger in my guild. After spending about
40 hours, over three weekends, and about an hour a day during the week, I
have not seen ONE drop off of the mini-bosses that i have killed, and that
is quite a few. I read somewhere that Sony supposedly increased the drop
rate on that item, but I haven't seen any evidence of that.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do to get this one damned emerald?

I can say that prior to the change, what you just described would be the
norm, it was stupidly rare. Don't know how often it drops now.

I got one on my 3rd named (Lord of Loathing). That required killing
about 20 placeholders, though 🙁

I'd say I spent around 15-20 hours up there, mostly just me and my
shaman twink (he was around 53 at the time).

Don't have an answer but I DO have a follow-up question...

Is it easy to solo in Hate these days? If so what would be the
minimum you'd do it in...Say 61 Necro with decent gear, or perhaps a
63 Druid with decent gear. I have both, and can bot if necessary.

It has been AGES since I was up there and I did it on raids that way
back then were SCARY. Hehe, a lot has changed...
