Unless you are planning to add a second graphics card, a 650W PSU will be sufficient (get 850W for two cards).
Otherwise, I believe you will find that an Intel i5 build on a Z97 board will outperform an AMD system in almost all games. That isn't to say the AMD build will be bad, but for the money, Intel is the better choice. AMD also uses considerably more power, and generates more heat. I would use a good air cooler, which will also help cool the VRMs.

With the budget you set, for gaming, you are doing yourself a disservice by not purchasing intel.

AMD is fantastic, but their main selling point is the price to performance argument. If price isn't an issue for you, why not spend an extra 150 dollars on a killer i7, or heck, an extra 50 dollars on an i5?

Thats a great GPU btw, and I think the 8GB GDDR5 is smart future-proofing.

And let me give you one real world example, an experience that I had. I bought dying light. It ran at between 35 and 55 fps with my old FX 8350 and sli gtx 770 build. I was looking to upgrade anyways, but after installing a 4790k with the gtx 770s on the same settings, my frame rate jumped to 75 to 120 frames per second.

The main problem with amd cpus for gaming is that they have a slow single thread. Seriously, the single thread score for the fx 8350 is on par with i7s from 2009. In addition, the eight core amd cpus are still only one thread per core so you have 8 cores with 8 threads. With the i7s you have 2 threads per core, so even though its a quad core you still get the eight threads, so you still get good multitasking performance with the i7.

Just some food for thought, good luck with the build!

Looking at that benchmark got me thinking, but what about the i7 4930K with a 2011 mobo build? Cost wise it seems I would go over my budget by $500 or more but just the GPU, I want to future proof this build. I'm playing Dying Light on my current build in my signature but only can handle it on balance without it lagging. I've thought about going to Intel for some time, but its a price against performance battle. Ignoring the i7 5930Ks completely.

What about this for a potential Intel build

Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W - $389.99

GIGABYTE GA-X99-UD3 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 - $209.99

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 - $244.99

......ummm yeah......will definitely surpass the budget but perhaps worth for the future unless anyone has a cheaper but same alternative build?
