In my many years of gaming I've used only 60hz monitor and thought I'd upgrade myself to 144hz,
The monitor I was gonna buy was Lenovo Y25f-10 24.5”, but I have concerns,
Since I have a Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB Windforce 2X card, will I be able to use the monitor and get 144hz?
I don't plan on using that FreeSync, I just want the picture on my screen in 144hz, that's all.
Is that possible?
And do I need 144 or more fps in order to have 144hz in-game?
This is such a noob question, but I'd rather know the answer than pretend smart and screw up.

The main advantage of adaptive sync is that it eliminates screen tearing artifacts. Unless you always use vsync with your 60Hz screen (which adds a bit of input lag), then you're already getting screen tearing anyway, and if anything tearing should be a bit less noticeable at higher frame rates on a 144Hz screen.
