i figure there isnt a card available that offers the same value as a 960 (do correct me if Im wrong)

Either ways, I want to use it for a 3 moniter setup (Nvidia Surround)
But I hear the max res it offers is 5120 pixels, 3 HD moniters are 5760.
Can I use a GTX960 with three moniters?

And yes I WILL be gaming -
BF3/BF4, Witcher 2/3, Skyrim, CoH, Total War, FarCry 4, etc etc

Thanks

According to nVidia, the GTX960 supports a maximum total resolution of 11520x2160. Therefore, yes, it will support 3x1080p screens in 2D surround mode.

Given the games you mentioned and the fact that you didn't mention the rest of your configuration, I can only go as far as saying you should be able to run the following with playable FPS:
The Witcher 3 on Medium
The Witcher 2 on Medium - High
Battlefield 2 on Medium - High
Battlefield 3 on Medium
Skyrim on High (no mods involved)
Company of Heroes 2 on Ultra
Total War: Rome II on Ultra
Far Cry 4 on High-Ultra

I considered you would be using an i5-2500K, as I don't know exactly what CPU you're using or how much RAM you've got (I assumed 8GB of RAM)
You can connect up to 4 screens in surround + one as an Accessory display.
