hello!! i currently have an xfx radeon hd 6950 2gb gpu, i plan to buy a gigabyte geforce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6gb card , my current pc specs are:
intel core i5 2300 2.8 ghz
motherboard intel dh61ww pcie 2.0 x 16
psu cooler master g700 700W
ram 8 gb ddr3 1333mhz

need some suggestions if i'll face some significant or negligible bottlenecking of my gpu with my current pc build, Also my motherboard has pcie 2.0 x 16 slot, while the mentioned gtx 1060 has a requirement of pcie 3.0 x 16, will it cause problems with the motherboard?? and lastly, is this decision of a gpu upgrade ok or not???? Also, i am low on budget, so upgrading a component other than gpu is difficult for me at present

Solution
PCI-E 2.0 x16 MOBO will work with a PCI-E 3.0 GPU. The only real application to the 3.0 x16 is bandwidth. I do, however, recommend you save a bit more at some point to get a new mobo and cpu at some point.

You won't run into any issues; but it's nice to get some newer technology that's available. Consider checking prices on Newegg on CyberMonday.
While in some game titles (Those heavy with physics and math) you might see some frame drops... I believe the 1060 is still a good match for your setup.

Try not to worry so much about "bottle-necking". If anything, you have a solid card when you decide to upgrade again.

As far as I know, there is no significant performance difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0. PCI-E 2.0 @ 16x has enough bandwidth for the top end cards of today.

Don't quote me on that though. Get a second opinion.

thank u for ur suggestion , i live in pakistan and the prices of pc components are quite high here , so is it ok if i get the gpu now and upgrade the cpu and mobo some time later????

You shouldn't run into any issues getting a new GPU first. The Mobo and CPU upgrades was just a suggestion :)
