Im planning to switch from amd motherboard and cpu to intel's and I was wondering what's a cheap cpu that is equivalent to the amd fx 8350 or better?

My budget is 300 dollars together for cpu and mobo. Thank you.
I'm a hardcore gamer btw. I will be playing Bf4, blade and soul, and tons of more mmorpgs.

It is a bit over, but it has no rebates. Also, the 1231 is an i7 47xx without an IGPU and can not be OCed. You can't really compare anything AMD to this. In terms of no OC

Dude after we ran into each other in that other thread, now I recognize you everywhere because of that profile pic 😛

OP, an i5 is the sweet spot for gaming in terms of price/performance, will be much better than a FX 8350 even with a huge OC.

I wouldn't recommend the switch at all unless you are having problems. You won't see enough gains with intel to make the switch worth $300+. I had FX-8350/990FX and went to i5-4690k/Z97. Was not worth the performance gain at all. I did it because of motherboard heat issues. Had to RMA my board twice. Didn't want to invest more into the FX processor so I sold it and just bought the i5. Take it from my personal experience. It is not worth it.

Comparison benchmark:

Have you personally owned both chips? The difference was negligible for me. Nothing is wrong with that comparison video. I use other benchmark comparison sites including those, but that particular video is fine for my point. The fps differences are where they should be in the video anyway.

I was thinking at first to buy a amd 8350 and a new motherboard for it but I see that amd has some overheating issues, and I thought to myself "why not just switch to Intel?" Im stuck between that 8350 since its cheap but intel for overall performance. I have a amd 4300 btw
