Hello All,
I am planning to upgrade my 10 year old PC. (You heard it right 10 years!!!!!)

My current configuration:
Intel Core i5 750
Asus P75PD-E Motherboard
RAM:10GB DDR3
PSU:CORSAIR 550VX
GPU:GTX970 OC

UPGRADE:
AMD RYZEN:3600 Processor
Motherboard: B450 MSI PRO Carbon AC
RAM:Corsair DD4 16GB (8+8) for redundancy.

Planning to use same GPU and PSU for atleast 2 more years since I am low in money.

I have 3 concerns:

1)First one is reliability.

My intel & Asus board had zero issues for last 10 years which is amazing. So moving to AMD & MSI board can I expect similar kind of reliability & life expectancy.

2nd: My PSU Corsair VX 550
This has been rock solid and hoping to continue to use it until it dies. Can this PSU run my above configuration without any issues?
My PSU details can be seen from here:
Specs of my PSU (Link)
3) B450 Motherboard

I am aware that b450 motherboard need bios update for new ryzen 3000. My concern is whether it will cause any issues or instability compared to x570 which are ryzen 3000 ready.

Please provide your valuable opinion & thank you for your help. I am always grateful!!

My last question is should I go with 1600 Ryzen instead of 3600.
Ryzen 1600 costs 120$ 2600 costs 173$ & 3600 230$ from where I live. Should I go with 1600 since all are 6 core 12 thread processor & could save 100$$.

They're priced [roughly] in line with performance. The 3600 (although it does carry a bit of a premium) is certainly better performing than the 1600. That being said, the 3600 is NOT 2x faster than the 1600. Your money, your call. The 2600 seems like a happy medium.

Thank you for your insight again. I think I will go with ryzen 3600 since I will not be upgrading for the next 5 years so better buy the latest one and hope for the best.
