Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card
Case: Antec Three Hundred ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer

But Want to upgrade to somthing like this:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme4 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($139.98 @ Outlet PC)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($72.99 @ NCIX US)

So, is it worth it? Is there stuff I should change? Also I would be planning upgrading the 7870 to a 7970 later on.

Solution
This motherboard will allow you to overclock your CPU and not see it throttle

Go with this CPU instead. It's the same, only clocked lower. Takes 20 seconds to make it run at 4GHZ.

Also upgrading a HD 7870 seems like a waste of cash.
I mean isn't the HD 7870 fast enough already?
Spending 350$ for a 40% performance boost seems kind of unreasonable.

In my opinion you should wait for the series coming out at the end of the year and see if you want to upgrade then.
Worth is something only YOU can determine.

If you are budgeting $320 for a motherboard/cpu upgrade, you are better off with an intel based combo. For that, you can get a i5-4670K and a Z87 motherboard if you are near a microcenter.
Are your games cpu bound?
Run your games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely cpu limited.

As to the graphics card upgrade, I think the boost would not be great enough to make you feel good.
Your 7870 is already a very good card.

What would you gain with a different case?

If you have a need for Blu-ray, then that is good.
