How do I play HEVC (H265) without lag in older computers with Core2Duo or even lower configuration.

Solution

you will need a GPU that supports HEVC decoding, i believe all nvidia maxwell cards support HEVC playback. alternatively you can re-encode the video to H.264 but that probably defeats the purpose of having HEVC video in the first place

Encoding takes more than 10 hours, is there any faster way?

i know the 950 had the best HEVC engine out of all the maxwell cards, you could pick one up and that should improve performance significantly

After 2 hours of research i find the solution, download and install Strongene CUDA H.265 decoder and LAV filters...
now i play video in windows media player with 50% cpu usage...before that it was more than 100% on intel core 2 duo
