I just picked up an old dual monitor punch out cabinet that was
converted to a superman.

I want to convert the cabinet to a playchoice 10.

I am new to working on arcade games and have a few questions

I know I need a playchoice 10 board. Are there differences between a
single monitor and a dual monitor board?

Will the playchoice board plug into the existing harness that is in the
superman?

From what I can tell, the power supply assembly was changed when it was
converted. Will I need to change it for a playchoice?

I have downloaded all of the manuals and diagrams I can find, but I am
still unclear how easy or hard this will be

If anyone has any pictures of an original playchoice 10 inside and
outside I would love to see them

If you have some tips or could help me in any way please feel free to
email me at jbegler@gmail.com

I am sure I will have many more questions, but this is all i have for now

Thanks for any help you can provide

Josh

Hi Josh!
You need several, several things. First, you need a board for a dual
monitor, yes, there's a difference between it and the single monitor.
Basically the wiring's different, and the single monitor has a different
attract screen set up.

You'll need to rewire the entire cabinet, unless they made some sort of
adaptor, that can be removed when they converted it to a superman... I doubt
they did, they probably rewired everything, and you'll have to wire it back.
They've probably really hacked up the wiring to the monitors, since the
Nintendo monitors use an inverted signal, you have to 'uninvert' it to make
it work with a regular game.

You can probably make the power supply they have in it, work for the
Playchoice, just rewire the outputs.

If they've drilled holes in the control panel, you'll need to do some work
on it, too, or get a new control panel.
