Playing 720p videos in a 1080p monitor?!

Will playing 720p videos look bad in a 1080p 22-inch monitor? If yes, will they at least be watchable?

720 as in HD DVD's or YouTube videos? DVD's are going to look better with less compression, than online videos obviously. Watchable? Absolutely.
