Playing games at 720p on an 21.5" 1080p monitor

I have a sapphire nitro rx 460 4gb oc edition. I feel that this card will start to lag 1080p gaming in upcoming years. So, I am planning to play games at 720p on a 1080p monitor. Will it look bad if I do so? Again, the monitor is 21.5"

Also Playing On Hd (720p) Isnt Bad If U Switch From 4k To Hd Its A Little Weird
But Switching Of 1080 To 720 Isnt Bad And The 21.5 Inch I Think Should Be Suitable For Hd Isnt It ?

Well for any monitor if it is not on it's native resolution it will look bad but if you can handle it it can be ok
