Is there a website somewhere that provides Java applets (or other
online versions) of IF games? I've found scattered samples here and
there (Andrew Plotkin's website, Galatea through Emily Short, Jigsaw
through I-forget-where) but I was curious about a mass collection.

Thanks,
Carolyn

Has a fairly large selection playable through an HTML interface.

That's the one I was going to suggest. There may be other sites that
have games on line for you to play, but I think the IFiction site has
a larger number and variety of games available. I normally just play
off line, but I tried out the site a bit before and it looked good.

Let you play Infocom game by telnet. Graphics or sounds (when it
applies) are not supported and you can save your game (as long as
someone does not overwrite it).

If you really want as for something java based, I only know this version
of H2G2 on Douglas Adams website
(http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocomjava.html)
