Playstation 1 and 2 not reading games.

So I recently found an old PS1 and I decided to go back in time and play some games from my childhood, but since I don't know where my old games are so I decided to download them from emuparadise and mount, so here the trouble starts. My ps1 will not load the games so I thought it was the lense, I decided to try it on my ps2, same thing. The thing is that the game I burned on the disc loads in the emulator no problem so I asume it was mounted properly. I tried to run another cd that I have audio on, and it worked normally both on ps1 and ps2. I also noticed that the ps1 and ps2 would sometimes recognize the burned cd and sometimes show that it isn't even inserted. Both my playstations are chipped since I always made backups.
Is it possible that the Cd's that I bought are different from the old ones? These that I bought are soo thin you can literally see the text on the other side of the disk, at first I thought I bought scratched disk until I noticed its just the other side. I don't remember the old ones being so thin.
Any help would be so much appreciated.

First to say, emuparadise has "Backups" of the games, but they are used for pirating games per usual.

[strike]Second if the PS2 is original without modding it surley wont load burned copies of the games.[/strike]

Third also the brand of the CD matters, usually princo worked for me and traxdata which is not in production anymore.

Also maybe lenses might be in "dust".

yes.I agree.Try cleaning the lens with a dvd cleaner or you can clean them manually. If it doesnt work you must change the lens.Because if you hadnt used it for a long time then it is logicall that the lens will need to be changed

I cleaned the lens and still nothing, so I asked a friend if he had any old ps1 games, to my luck he had one, and to my big surprise it loaded. So the lens works, a big relief, saved me alot of trouble. Bought different cd-s and they work! Now I can go on a big nostalgia trip, thank you!
