Question Playstation 2 Media (DVD) Player settings reset?

Ive been collecting Game Consoles, I never preveously owned any of these so im not super familiar with them, I was testing DVD playback and going through the Playstation 2s (Its a Slim if that matters) Media player settings and selected "Progressive" as the DVD format and the screen went blank, everything else works but now goes blank every time I insert a video DVD. Is there a way reset these settings other than actually finding a different dispay that dosent go blank in progressive scan mode?

Details; im using a A/V to HDMI upscaler. through to a 27" Viewsonic VP2770 Display. (@720p and apperently ither it or my display dosent support progressive scan mode)

A bit Google-Fu and found the walkthrough on how to enable it,

Reason states that doing the same thing in reverse should disable it.

Yeah that didnt work.

Then, the only fix would be using display that supports progressive scan. Since for PS2, there is no "factory reset" function/option.
