Playstation 4 constant overheating issue

Hey everyone, so I've got an original model ps4, that seems to overheat and shut itself off constantly when trying to play alot of different games, nioh and sometimes nier automata as examples. Now a bit of history with this system, it's had a ridiculously loud fan since the moment I bought it, but it would never overheat and shut off so I didn't really pay it much attention to it and just let it ride. Now fast forward to a month or so ago and I was cleaning out the dust in my system, I had taken it all the way apart down to the motherboard and did a full dusting of just about everything in an effort to make the fan quieter. Once I had it here I went ahead and replaced the thermal paste since I could see that parts of it were chipping off and it was pretty cruddy at that point.

So, after getting it all put back together the process worked like a charm and the ps4 essentially ran quiet, for all of a week. After this the fan came back as loud as it usually is and then the ps4 started overheating, displaying the blue screen overheating message, and then beeping 3 times and shutting off completely.

Now what strikes me as odd is that it only does it when I jump into a game that has alot going on, such as any level in nioh, after it finishes load screen the fan ramps up to max and BAM. Overheated. Now other games I've noticed where it does something is in nier automata, it seems to load the game at a slower pace and doesn't put as much strain on the cpu and gives the fan a chance to run and basically catch up to where it needs to be. It will still give me the blue screen overheating message from time to time in this case, but won't shut off as the fan has been able to run and provide constant cooling.

TL;DR - I basically think that the issue might be the thermal paste needs replacing again as it seems to be generating too much hear and the heatsink/fan doesn't have an opportunity to compensate for that by dissipating the heat. Anyone have this issue and want to chime in?

If it worked fine after replacing the thermal paste just one month ago, then the issue is NOT the thermal paste. Paste doesn't degrade that fast.

The fan is tied to one or more TEMPERATURE SENSORS so it's possible those are malfunctioning. Hard to say, but I don't know if there's anything that YOU can fix.

*WHERE is the PS4 sitting?
Make sure it's not inside a stand, or on top of anything that will add to the heat. There are also a variety of after-market cooling devices.

There may even be an issue with the original fan.

I doubt it since it WAS WORKING after you replaced the paste. No idea why it would be fine for a week or so then start having issues again.

(also, why is it "odd" that this happens when going into a game with a lot going on? The APU is getting stressed, so if the cooler can't keep up it overheats and fails)

I just find it odd because it was able to play these games perfectly fine if albeit a bit loud before, but now it won't even let me load anything in them before overheating, but games like battlefield one, dark souls 3, and bloodborne will run fine for any length of time and I just have to deal with the fan being loud without seeing an overheating screen once.
