Please advise: New monitor required!

Hey everyone. As you can tell, I'm new here.

I need your advice on buying a new monitor.

Until recently, I've been using a Samsung SyncMaster P2250, which unexpectedly broke for seemingly no reason. Ergo, I need a replacement monitor.

My main issues are budget and requirements - I use my PC for both design work and gaming, so I need a good balance between visual accuracy (colour reproduction and suitable contrast) and fluidity/clarity, and lack of ghosting. 22-24" is my size range. DVI-D and/or HDMI is a must.

I'd looked into IPS monitors, but most responses questioned their response time and input lag for gaming.

Additionally, my budget is strained at the moment - I can only realistically afford about £130.

So, is anyone able to suggest potential candidates? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers in advance!

Try this guy http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/lg-ips226v/

I have an IPS monitor with about a 12ms responce time and never found it an issue with games. In fact when I first started using it after using a cheap TN monitor, it felt like I was playing new games the quality was so good.

The LG is the only IPS screen, although I'm sure it's not the best quality one. The one I have is about a $600 screen in 21.5" size, I'm sure there is a pretty big difference there between that and this LG. But it should be better in color and view angle than the ASUS monitors.
