This is an especially important request from me. I have been gifted $2000 and I can add $500 more ($2500 max) that I can put toward a PC that I desperately need to complete some music compositions and a video game addon for MS Flight Simulator 2020.

The music is my lifetime work as a composer and needs serious remastering and some recreation in Ablelton .. and some in Finale (orchestral).

I am also a commercial pilot and CFI and have created an add on for MSFS 2020 that is a co-pilot for any plane and makes flying much easier such as on VATSIM>

MSFS is the only game I'm intererested in (for it might bring some income) and the music is Ableton (firewire to Fireface UFX so I need 1 free pci slot) is really my legacy for this lifetime of composing.

So I know for sure that 12700 and 3080 will do what i need... and I'm concerned about heat and probably need liquid cooling. This system must last be 5 years or so.
It will be the last sytem I buy in this lifetime.. so 5 years will serve what I need. More power may be ok if the heat doesn't become an issue for longivity of the system.
DDR5 would be wonderful with 32MB for the music.

Now I need it to be reliable (I'm a Ph.D. level programmer and composer) ..
If you think prices will drop .. then I can wait up to 6 months for a better deal.

In the past I've built my own, but don't want to deal with debugging and fixes now. I just need a pre-built that works.

Sorry to be so dramatic .. but it is one of the most important decisions in my life at this point.
My CD will be titled "Songs to My Younger Self" and have a lifetime worth of poems set to music . hopefully you young souls will find some meaning in it.

UPDATE: THANKS for the replies .. I'm in the US , Cincinnati

Another option is to call around to local mom & pop PC / laptop repair shops and find out how much they will charge to build the PC for you if you order and bring them the components. This way you know exactly what you're getting.

Are you in the USA? If so and if you have a microcenter nearby I’d recommend going there and having them help you pick parts out like you were doing the build yourself. However I believe they will assemble everything for you for about $150. That or a reputable local shop is what I’d consider.

Not that there aren’t good prebuilt systems, but many of them try to skimp on parts like the power supply for example. If a power supply were to go out the system could go out. Another thing to consider is a data backup in case something would happen to your pc.
