Please can someone tell me if my 980Ti is junk or are these normal scores for a 980Ti?

I have owned this MSI 980Ti GOLD EDITION for about 20 days and it sucks BADLY in my opinion. My old MSI R9-290 only got about 5-10FPS less on most games and got a much higher score on most of the 3D Mark scores below that i compared it to. On Firestrike 1080p i got a score of about 14110 and that is with my GPU being clocked at a stable 1515MHz core clock. On Cloud GATE 1.1 i got a score of 18739, on ICE STORM 1.2 i got a score of 109756, on Sky DIVER 1.0 i got a score of 26385.I do not use any 3D mark anymore because it ALWAYS shows my GPU, no matter what GPU i am using, it shows it as 540MHz core no matter what so i say screw it and i give up on 3D Mark. On Rise of the Tomb Raider i get about 30-40FPS with all settings on highest possible at 1080p and i know the game needs about 8-9GB of VRAM and i only have 6GB but it should still run at a better FPS than that. On the Witcher 3 i get 40-55FPS at 1080p with every setting as high as it can go except with Hairworks OFF. Can someone please tell me if the scores are good? The CPU is an i5-4690 also if needed to know and 4x4Gb of ram. I hope my 980Ti is not defective but i mean it really angers me knowing i spent over $670 on a GPU that performs like a $200 one 🙁

Id say your scores are a little off, you should be atleast hitting 15000+ in Firestrike. I was getting 17-18000 with my single 980TI granted I have a different processor. Your ROTR FPS is definitely low, I usually get anywhere from 60-80 when I was running my single card. Definitely wipe clean GPU drivers with DDU, reinstall the latest drivers. Update your bios and make sure your card is set to run at Performance mode in your Nvidia control panel.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4966#bios
download the newest bios for your rev 1.0 or 1.1 rev mb. unzip it to a usb stick.
plug the usb stick into a usb 2.0 port and reboot into the bios
under the utility tab is the mb bios updater. click on it and point the updater to the usb stick
let it run and reboot.
go back in save factory default
reset sata and ram speeds if needed.
restest gpu speed.

I did all the thinggs you mentioned and i wipe it all hell i even reinstalled windoes 🙁 Is my card junk? Also i am getting the same score 50 more or less, than everyon eelse gets with an i5-4690/980Ti combo so does that mean the i5-4690 is hurting the 980Ti and not letting it work good? Also why does ROTTR use 8-9GB of VRAm? It makes no sense that game looks like shit yet uses so much VRAM

So i am ok? THANK GOD! :) I know it is impossible for an i5-4690 to bottleneck a 980Ti on a 60Hz monitor like i got so im happy but i know on monitors that go past 60Hz it owuld defiently be a huuuge impact i think

yeah man they would definitely... but I'm of the Ultrawide religion so my 3440x1440p at 80hz is still the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

I did a benchmark on GTAV at 1080p with every possible setting as high as it can go in Graphics and advance graphics and i did not use 8xmsaa because i used 4xmsaa so i could have txaa also and this is what i got, is this good?

again this is shown to be a standard without overclocking, Remember if AA is turned on it will limit you to 60FPS and MXAA is pointless. Try turning it off completely. Also never use the benches of one game to come to your ultimate conclusion.

I never used benchmarks of one game to make my conclusion I was just simply asking if this was an ok FPS for this one game.At 1440p a single 980Ti and single Titan X sucks ass at that resolution and is garbage at 4K. I mean why would someone want to play at 1440-/4K with many settings on medium or low just to get a playable FPS when you can play at 1080p with everything maxed out and still get a perfect FPS. To me resolution does not matter to me as long as its 1080p because the Graphical settings are all that matters to me and is why i only use my 4K monitor for movies and maybe some simple games like Minecraft or such that can be ran on it good. I know some people love playing at 4K with every setting on a game at low and still think the game looks better "JUST" because it is at 4K but oh well lol
