Hi everyone, I've spent a lot of time trying to perfect my build (i haven't ordered any parts yet). I would appreciate any suggestions and tips. I do a ton of FPS gaming with a 1440p 144hz monitor as my main monitor and 2 1080p 60hz. I would like to OC my CPU to between 4.6-5.0ghz however I am torn between the i5 9600k or the i7 8700k. Would you recommend the hyperthreading on the i7? I will be doing recording with shadowplay and also streaming with OBS, but a lot of people are saying that OBS doesnt utilize hyperthreading so can I have opinions on this please. There is a £100 difference between the two CPUS so I need to know whether the £100 difference will be worth the performance benefits - does anyone have benchmarks or anything on this? TIA!

looks like you're upgrading just CPU/Mobo/RAM and transferring the rest over from the old system.

Country?

If you're going to go with an 8700K, get a cheaper Z370 mobo.

Why not i7-9700K?
Yeah I upgraded my GPU, added SSD and new PSU 2 years ago so now I need to upgrade the rest. Im from UK. I need to decent mobo to OC the cpu's. The 9700k is way too overpriced for my budget and offers little performance difference from the 8700k and also it does not have hyperthreading making it even worse.

The 8C/8T 9700K meets or exceeds the 6C/12T 8700K in most/all benchmarks. One thread does NOT equal one core. But, price-wise, the 8700K is no slouch.
the 9700k is way out of my budget, ive researched so many cpu's and the 9600k or the 8700k are the only two i want but i dont know which one to get.
