Please clarify Zubera's abilities

I have two Ashen-Skin Zuberas in play. During my combat phase I lose
one Ashen-Skin Zubera. When it gets placed in my graveyard my
opponent discards a card.

During the second half of my main phase, my opponent shocks my second
Ashen-Skin Zubera sending it to my graveyard. When the second one is
placed in my graveyard it checks to see if any other Zuberas have been
placed in all graveyards this turn. Seeing the one that was lost
during the combat phase this turn, my opponent must now discard an
additional two cards.

Total cards my opponent would have to discard: 3

Is this correct?

Ashen-Skin Zubera
1B
Creature - Zubera Spirit
1/2
When Ashen-Skin Zubera is put into a graveyard from play, target
opponent discards a card for each Zubera put into a graveyard from
play this turn.

Thanks!

Yes. Well, a short time later; like most triggered abilities, this one
spends some time on the stack.

Yes. The triggered ability doesn't care whether the target opponent has
done any discarding earlier in the same phase/turn/game.

1+2=3, yes.

It goes to the graveyard, you mean? "Lose a <permanent>" hasn't been a Magic
term for quite some time... (pop quiz: which card's FAQ involved that term?)

Correct.

This is correct. If one dies, its ability triggers and resolves, -then- the
other one dies, the total number of discarded cards is three.

If one dies, then another dies BEFORE the first one's ability has resolved?
(Or at the same time as the first one?) Then the total number of discarded
cards is four, because now -both- abilities count "Two. Two lovely Zubera.
Ah, ah, ah!" on resolving.

Yep.

Where it gets a little harder to figure out is when several go to the
graveyard at once. If these had both gone to the graveyard at the same
time - say both died during the same combat phase - your opponent would
have to discard *four* cards, which is not exactly the first guess most
people make if they're not familiar with the rules. (Both go to the
graveyard, *then* their abilities go on the stack, and when they
resolve, both look back at the turn and see that two Zuberas have gone
to the graveyard this turn.)

My opponent discarding four cards was my initial take...assuming that
they all went to the graveyard at the same time. I was unsure if they
went at "separate" times.

Thanks.

I'm gonna guess it was Lich; that seems like the sort of thing they
would have said when describing its abilities back then.

Interesting. Everyone thinks a bit differently about such things, or
course; one person's "obvious" is another's "bizarrely
counterintuitive", and in my experience *nothing* proves that like Magic
rules questions. Sometimes, like right now, you learn more from
*answering* them than anyone learns from your answers...

Nope nope nope. [Original wording of Lich:
Lich Enchantment BBBB
You lose all life. If you gain life later in the game, instead draw one card
from your library for each life. For each point of damage you suffer, you must
bury(^$) one of your cards in play. You lose if this enchantment is destroyed
or if you suffer a point of damage without sending a card to the graveyard.]

And, looking, there were actually -two- cards with the FAQ I'm thinking of,
but for some reason only one of them usually got it asked about it...

It's one of the better ways to learn the rules, in fact; explain them to
someone else who's not sure about them.
