In the past, I have bought nothing but HPs, Dells, and Gateways. I've done a considerable amount of research. I tried to make the most powerful computer possible, at the cheapest price. I believe I have succeeded!
Old (Current) Computer:
HP m8200n (For comparison)
Goal:
Gaming machine capable of running any game at maximum (or near-max) graphical settings.
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
CPU Heatsink: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Memory: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
Storage: TOSHIBA PH3200U-1I72 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
Video Card: I'm re-using my GeForce GT 520. (This will certainly bottleneck, but it's gotta better than the on-board video right?) I'm thinking of getting two GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOSTs. I think they will give me more power than I need for a reasonable price.
Case: I'm re-using an old Pentium 4 ATX case. (I don't think it will require any modifications.)
Power Supply: SeaSonic M12II 750 SS-750AM 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Semi-modular Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
Optical Drive: SuperMulti 16X DVD(+/_)R/RW 12X RAM (+/-)R DL LightScribe SATA drive
