So, a lot has changed since I last asked this 2 months ago but I won't go into details.

My Monitors (both 1080p):
Primary: Asus TUF Gaming VG328H1B 31.5"
Secondary: Asus VG248QE 24"

I am looking to get a new PC - my current one is at least 7 years old but some parts are newer. When I got my new primary monitor it started to use more resources then my PC can handle when I play some games resulting in my putting games to their lowest graphical settings so it's time to upgrade. I woud like the new system to last awhile as well as my current one has.

I put together an AMD and Intel build using Newegg's PC Builder as I know jack about PC components. If you could please let me know about y build and/or make suggestions on builds please do.

AMD: https://newegg.io/0c0c56b
Intel: https://newegg.io/bf93e79

Approximate Purchase Date: Soon-ish (tm)
Budget Range: around 1500 USD
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (not FPS mostly Simulation games) watching Twitch.
Are you buying a monitor: No, already have.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference.
Location: Orlando, FL
Parts Preferences: No preference
Overclocking: No/Maybe?
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution:1080p
Additional Comments: I don't need anything fancy like LED lights and stuff.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Having issues running Factorio since I got my new monitor hooked up,

A few things. That Fractal Define is silent due to the fact it has horrible airflow as in it's a hotbox. I would look for a case with better airflow for sure. Another thing to keep in mind is the RTX 4070 and 4060 are due for release this April followed by the RTX 4060 Ti. Expect the 4060 to be comparable to the RTX 3070 performance wise.

Here's a few changes to your build to look at.

I updated both of my list to your recommendations.

2 things that came up:
I couldn't fnd the LIAN LI case in the PC Builder on Newegg even though that case is on Newegg so I added the Pop Air one you also recommended.
I couldn't find the AMD CPU without the X

As far as the OS goes: What's the real difference between the Home and Pro versions besides the $60? I've always had the pro version ever since Windows 7 as I had gotten a really good deal on it and upgraded free to Windows 10 Pro. The only thing I know is I want the retail version and not the OEM.

Of those two updated builds, which one is more future proof?

Windows Pro adds some extra features that 99.9% of PC users will never know about. I wonder why the 7600 never came up. It runs a lot cooler than the 7600X. As far as future proof ... flip a coin.

Oh, I also meant to ask: Why 32 GB of RAM instead of 64?
Is 64GB overkill for my needs?

If I decide to go with the AMD build, I will jsut buy the CPU without hte X.

But - Which one would you recommend that would give me best bang for buck and be able to be upgraded and be a good system for the next 6 years or so?

64GB is overkill unless you do a lot of video editing for example. That and you can always add another set of that RAM later on for 64GB but tbh 32GB should last you for years to come.

Hi
Could you recheck my build? I put it onto PC Part Picker so that I can get it as cheaply as possible. I did a couple of changes so wanting to make sure it'll all work together.

Please let me know of any changes/recommendations.
Change your RAM ... other than that it all works ^^

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

One last question: Is there a time when most hardware goes on sale? i.e. Is there a best time to buy all the items to get the best bang for my buck?
Black Friday but what they put on sale is usually stuff that doesn't move well. What I would keep my eye peeled on is the prices and benchmarks of the RTX 4060 and 4070 due for release this April and soon afterwards the 4060 Ti.
