Any idea what the battery life on that is?

4.5 hours maximum, You won't get 10 hours or more with an OEM battery trust me. You need to buy another one if you wish to have more battery life

Hmm, ok, that's interesting. I am not too great at buying with laptops, much more so with desktops. So is there a specific kind of battery that I should look to buy apart from the OEM, or, would it be useful to have multiple batteries and keep them charged so that I can switch out batteries?

Lookup for some 9-cells battery, I think these are the best for now.
