That is most likely because you need to install the camera driver that was originally provided by Asus for your laptop.

Here is the Asus site to download your camera driver from:

http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K52F&os=30

You will need to determine which model you need the driver for, as apparently they use a few different ones.
