I have just bought the Acer AL732. In the user manuel it says that the recommended setting is 1280*1024 at 60 Hrz, but it is Capable of 1280*1024 at 75 Hrz.

Why is the 75 Hrz not better than the 60 Hrz setting ?

It doesn't matter b/c lcd's don't refresh, so there isn't really a difference. Run it at reccomended (60Hz) b/c it may provide better image quality and u rn't pushing the monitor.

Hilbert space is a big place.

Hi

Could you give a quick review of the AL732? I'm thinking of getting this monitor but can't find any tests of it anywhere..

It is GREAT.
Before buying I made a side by side comparison between the Acer AL732 and the Hitachi CML174SXW in the store. In my humble non technical opinion there is NO difference, except I prefer the Acer design. Maybe the colours are a little better on the Acer, but maybe that was just the settings. All in all I think it is a great monitor, and certainly the best one I have ever owned. I come from Denmark, and at least in Denmark the Acer screen is about 100£ cheaper than the Hitachi, adding yet another incentive for the Acer.

Sounds good. It's not available yet in Norway, but the store says it should be in by Monday. Guess I'll get it then, I too think it looks way better than the Hitachi!

Thanks
