This is my first computer build and I am banging my head again the wall. I have searched the forums but I haven't been able to find what I need help with. There seems to be some great knowledge around here, so any help I'd appreciate.

The issue is, I have popluated all 8 dimms with two kits of G.Sill RipjawsZ F3-1866C9Q-32GZH and it will only read 1333 mhz. My goal was to have the fastest memory and largest amount without overclocking since this is my business computer. I'm sure it's something I am doing wrong. Any suggestions?

Here is my build:

Fractal Design XL R2
Asus X79 Deluxe (Bios 0701)
i7-4930k
Nvidia Geforce GTX 780
Corsair ax1200i
Noctua NH-D14 SE2011
Windows 7 - Professional (64 Bit)
Samsung EVO - 1tb (storage)
Samsung EVO - 500gb (primary boot drive)

Let me know if there is any other info I can provide that could help with this.

Thanks.

Solution
BIOS is prob showing it's default, where CPU-Z is showing the true freq it's running at which would be 933 (this is DOUBLE data rate) so true freq (933) x 2 = 1866 effective

Try with one set initially, 1 stick in each channel, go to BIOS enable XMP and then try that...if stable add the second set and try, may have to make some voltage/timing adjustments as there's a good chance the two sets aren't going to want to play nice at 1866. Let me know how it goes and we can try adjustments if needed

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm going to give it all a shot right now.

Why so much RAM? I create plans from vey large aerial photographs with extensive lidar data sets. The lidar data sets can slows the computer a great deal.

Given that use case, probably.

I only asked because 99.9% of people here wanting to use 64GB don't need more than 8 or maybe 16GB max

Well, after reading a bit more, I checked the actual speed of the ram with CPU-Z. With both 32gb and 64gb installed, the DRAM speed in the Memory Tab said 933. So, CPU-Z is showing the ram running at 1866, while my BIOS screen is only showing 1333.

Does this mean that my ram is 1333 mhz OC'd to 1866 with the XMP setting?
