[SOLVED] Please Help - Air Cooler

Hi All,

I've run into a problem where if I use a Noctua NH-D15, there won't be enough clearance for G.Skill Trident Z RAM since my case (Corsair 460X) is a compact mid-sized case.

I don't believe I'll be overclocking the i7-12700K (or very little if at all). Can you please help me decide what to do in this situation?

• Option 1: buy low profile RAM and keep the NH-D15 (will be a tight fit but i think it will work)
• Option 2: keep the ram and get a smaller NH-D15s
• Option 3: keep the ram and get a Noctua NH-U12A

Is the D15s or the U12A better?

I would consider the Bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4. Very good cooler, and better ram clearance.

Just do pull-pull mate.
Fan behind tower 1, fan behind tower 2. Remove or relocate the rear 120mm chassis fan, as it'll just be in the way of the big 140mms.

I've had a D15S for the last 5 years, so answering this is a bit, uhh...




EDIT: Even as a Noctua fan, NH-U12A costs too bloody much...

I have a similar setup and use the NH-D15 with this low profile memory:

and then I just put the second fan directly above sitting on top of the memory heatsink. Works fine for me, maybe worth considering.
