Hi there, so i hooked my pc up to my mates 4k Onix television, we were playing all of my games on 4k, then one day we turn it on and it wont display more than 1080p, plus it is a little bit cropped out, i have checked nvidea control panel as well as the normal resolution settings but to no avail, PLEASE help me.
P.s. it is a Gtx 970 G1 Gaming, so it is quite capable of 4k.
(Could i have overheated my gpu maybe)

Ill try that thanks @k1114, and i have been playing a lot of my games @ 4k very high - ultra with AA off obvs, 60fps steady most of the time, obviously gta and alot of the new AAA titles are graphics whores but i haven't been playing those sort of games... Want proof?

Also what driver version? I'm not sure about the new ones, I'm still on 361 since there's been issues with newest ones. If it doesn't work, check device manager and see what it shows as. Sometimes the monitor driver wants to go wack as well but many displays are just pnp so won't run into that. Has there been any new installations, updates or changes recently on the pc?

Well i'm on the very latest driver version and in device manager it's all checks out, but there is one funny thing... It is telling me in nvidea controll panel that the display i'm using is called something completely different (Television brand name), it isn't samsung or any major brand so I thought that it might have just been a re-branded tv?
