PLEASE HELP!!! ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER XTREME

hey guys i just bought a new heatsink for my cpu Q6600 @2.4ghz

the Freezer Xtreme

i installed it and everything is corrected but the fan doesnt realli work

i want to oc my cpu later on to 3.2ghz or 3.6ghz but the fan isnt working

the problem is wen i turn my computer on, the fan spins for about 2 seconds then it stops and doesnt spin anymore

tho i am still usin the computer without the fan but i would love to have the fan on =[

the temps without the fan is really good compared to the stock intel fan

it looks like it doesn't have a fan so it's just a heat sync i'm guessing

sounds like power/noise saving feature. fan won't spin up until the processor heats up.

it does have a fan its 120mm as well

i mean when my comp boots up it spins for 2 - 3 seconds and slowly stops doesnt spin at all, even tho im on the comp now its pretty cool i havnt oced it yet

OMG HSC IN 2 DAYS and im more worried about my computer =[

oh forgot the fan has 4 wires

Black
Red
Yellow
blue

Its thermaly triggered, therefore the fan only spins when A) the CPU gets hot or B) when the PC first boots and all fans connected to the MB run at full speed.

i think ur wrong here, iv used intelburn test v1.7

and my temps went up to 60c "w/o fan" and the fan still didnt turn on =[

Check the CPU Q-fan Control/Profile under Power in the BIOS.

oh i checked it in the bios , hey ur right "all the options are disabled"

i enabled them the fan started spinning =O !!!

thx but how do i make it spin faster @ 1500rpm

its spinnin at 300rpm atm =[

Make any changes in the BIOS that will help you i.e., change the profile, or get a dummy fan and put the CPU fan on the PSU.
