PLEASE HELP! ASAP! DELETED WRONG FILES AND THEY WILL NOT WORK

Hi, what has happened is that i upgraded my windows live messenger to a 2011 version which i decided i really hate. I then decided to try and get rid of it by uninstalling the program and then downloading the older version again. I don't know if i was just being a little careless but i am pretty sure i did not see 'uninstall' before i deleted the program so i looked for it but did not seem to find it... so decided to delete the files and everything to do with windows live (such as windows live mail, w.l photo viewer etc) but when i deleted the files, the program is still not uninstalled so i cannot install the older version of messenger and i have also deleted windows live mail and other programs to do with it. As i have deleted these other programs (as it said delete all related files as they were installed as like add ons through msn) now i went on to one of my pictures and i cannot 'fix' it as i could before 'fix' just will not show up. I think i may have deleted some programs of standard windows which were not to do with windows live (and messenger) by accident and now i am stuck. I have done this before but i can't remember how to fix these problems and i did not delete as many programs and mess my laptop up this bad. My computer will also not disk check and says the drive has corrupted files due to a recently uninstalled/installed program- assumably windows live and messenger etc as it has just happened when i deleted the files (like a total idiot). I have also tried to restore my computer to an earlier point but i can't as well as not being able to disk check. Basically i need to know how to get my old messenger back (i have been in the recycle bin and clicked restore but it won't as i still have the new messenger installed/some files of it) and i need to know how to totally uninstall and delete the new messenger and live essentials, and get back my other programs i have deleted files of (i am not even sure of which other files i have deleted it's just my 'fix' and most other options will not work in my photo viewer). I also do not have a ******* external hard drive or anything so i need to try not to delete my personal files on my laptop such as pictures etc (not bothered about programs as much). I do not have a windows image either i have not created one as i did not know what one was before and have not created a personal restore point. SOMEONE PLEASEEE HELP ME IT'S SO ANNOYING I REALLY NEED TO SORT SOME OF MY PHOTOS OUT FOR MY ART AND USE MESSENGER AND THE OTHER PROGRAMS I HAVE DELETED AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO! I WILL PROBABLY END UP MESSING MY LAPTOP UP MORE! I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT, THANKS

System restore won't work either though because it needs to disk check but disk checking isn't working too... Seems to have affected quite a few things and now i'm stuck and scared. Restoring the programs wouldn't work either...

well, if that is the case then boot using a linux distro and backup all your files onto a external drive. and then you can reinstall your operating system.

for this very reason people create something called "backup"

I don't have an external drive though i can use my phone. But it doesn't hold programs, and word/pp documents etc just pictures/videos/music... It's not like i can buy an external hard drive right now anyway, i thought there would be some other way around this issue without having to go to such extremes as it is not like my laptop has a virus. I am also planning to buy a hard drive hopefully quite soon, but i do not have any money at the moment so for that reason i have to wait...

works even with a 8gig flash drive... if you have limited photos..

how many partitions did you have in your disk?

Have u tried recovery program, example : recuva......
As long as it is not replaced by new file u can restore it..

Think it's just three primary standard partitions that came like this on the laptop, i have not made any and i have literally thousands of photos and loads of music. I really don't want to have to take all my stuff off my laptop and mess with it then put it all back on, wow i so didn't think it would be that much of a headache i had made and of such inconvenience... but if that's the case then i will probably be tempted to play around some more and figure out what is wrong and if i can fix it. Unless anyone else has any suggestions? (before i mess something else up)

if you have the windows cd then go to run and type sfc/scannow this will fix any missing windows files. DO THIS FIRST!.

as for the live messenger. run ccleaner's reg cleaner this will remove the reg entries for live that werent deleted when you removed the files this is whats stopping you installing a fresh version. this will enable you to install live messenger again... you may need to reboot after the cleaning b4 you can install messenger...

It has been replaced when i downloaded the new messenger it always overwrites the old messenger... and i have just recovered part of it i think, as now messenger is showing up (the old one) and part opening (the startup screen) but it won't actually sign in and work as some file is missing and i'm not sure how to get this file back or if i can... And my photo viewer still will not show up with the 'fix' etc i can't do all the things i could with my photos before and i really could do with using the fix for my art photographs.

I also don't think i have a windows cd as my laptop came with the windows software built in, though i think it would be worth asking my mum about if our other computer came with one the same (though i can't do this right now as it is 4.59am)... And could i run the ccleaner's reg without the cd or can i only do it with that? And yes i needed to access the files to permanently delete/uninstall them properly but they seem to be hiding from me so i can't get to them :\

Install the new one again, then uninstall it the proper way. Then try the old one again.

I tried to install the new one again but it said you already have the latest version installed, though none of them work or are fully installed as some files are missing... I think the main thing is to get around uninstalling/deleting the programs fully, and get back the other programs deleted using the same method(s) as what works with the messenger situation. I'm also wondering what the 'fix' element is called for the photo viewer, it comes standard when you first buy a computer with windows on it (photo viewer tool section at the moment has file, print, email, burn and open on the top bar- but no fix)... Wonder if anyone knows what it is called so i can re-download it and know where to find it? Or how to get it back?
