Hello everyone. My wife is in need of a computer to make music. She doesn't need a graphics card and I am not sure what to get. Is onboard graphics on most recent motherboards enough for video streaming and using stuff like fruity loops? She lives on soundcloud cause she has a community of friends there and after moving countries to be with me she had to leave her computer back at home. She will just be browsing and will not be playing games whatsoever. She is a very good singer and she just wants to be able to plug her studio mic in and record music so she may need a soundcard? I am not sure where to start but I was looking to pay no more than 500 dollars just for the box. I already have a spare monitor, keyboard and mouse.

So parts she will need are ram, CPU, motherboard (one with good soundcard and with onboard graphics) a 1tb hard drive, power supply and case? She wont need a dvd drive and the monitor will be plugged in via DVI into the motherboard. She will not be playing ANY games and if she does play games they will probably just be browser games or Facebook games.

Thank you everyone for reading and I really look forward to your replies. I prefer intel CPU over AMD also if that helps.

Take care!

The integrated graphics of the i3 are pretty decent. The motherboard uses the ALC1150 audio codec and has a built in rear audio amplifier and USB DAC-UP ports.
