Yesterday my PC went to sleep mode. In the morning I tried to turn it on but it didn't. Then I turned off PSU and unplugged it. When I turned it on again it worked for several seconds with strange sounds and blinking lights. Immediately after that a burned smell appeared and I unplugged the PC.

Please help me figure out what happened and how I can fix the problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Well clearly you've fried something.
A sniff test is in order. If you've fried a component you can usually smell it quite clearly. So start picking it apart.
Did you leave a screw or something inside the case after assembly that could have shorted something?

Thank you all for your advices!

Here what I've tried for now. I disconnected all the cables from PSU expect for motherboard cable (wide and big one). I didn't change anything else. Then I turned it on and it worked! The CPU cooler was spinning, there weren't any burned smells.

Does it mean PSU is ok? What do you think?

Unfortunately I don't have an hdmi cable to connect my monitor directly to the motherboard in oder to figure out whether it is booting or not.

At that point my parents told me to stop experimenting with the PC in oder to not do any additional damage to hardware, and wait for a professional help. :)
