Please help! Can't shrink vista partition

Hey,

Please I need some help. I want to shrink my vista partition so as to install linux, however when I try to shrink my C drive (although I have 130 G free) I can only shrink up to 9 G.

I've tried removing the hibernation file, I've disabled the paging file, the kernel memory dump, and I've also defragmented the drive but I can't still shrink it.

Then I used gparted but that didn't work either.

I really need the linux partition insalled for college!

Please help!
