PLEASE HELP!!! Enabling M.2 Slot on Asus Prime X399 for Samsung EVO 960

Hi everyone,

I am having troubles with my first build.

cpu: AMD 1950X
mobo: Asus Prime X399-A
ssd: Samsung Evo 960 500GB
hdd: Seagate Barracuda 3TB
gpu: Asus 1070 Ti Rog Strix

The problem I have is that the Samsung EVO 960 SSD is not detected on the UEFI BIOS main page. It is visible in the boot configuration, but in the SATA information both M.2 ports read N/A.
I have tried both with the other SATA drives connected and disconnected, but no luck. I have read in other threads that I could try to enable the M.2 slots or set the slots for PCIe use as opposed to SATA, but I can't find the corresponding page on in the BIOS.
The firmware version is the latest available for this motherboard: 0403.

Can anyone please help me?

If the Samsung Evo 960 is new, have you formatted the drive yet? If you have not created a primary partition on the SSD, there is nothing on the SSD for the BIOS to see. You should not need to enable the M.2 slots or set the slots for PCIe use.

Thank you, all clear now. I was afraid it would have given problems when trying to install Windows. Actually everything went well, and the setup detected the SSD and install all right.
